Steven
Wedell is known to Central Ohio audiences as a full-time
violist with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and a founding
member of the Seraphin String Trio. He is a graduate of Western
Michigan University and Boston University. Mr. Wedell came to
Columbus in 1983 and served three years as the Acting Principal
Violist with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Prior to this,
he was Principal Violist with the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra
in Halifax, Nova Scotia.An
active teacher, Mr. Wedell is currently a lecturer at Otterbein
College, and he maintains a private teaching studio. In demand
as a chamber music coach and adjudicator, he is a member of
the Associated Faculty of The Chamber Music Connection, and
a judge for various music competitions.
He has appeared in concert
with the Westerville Symphony, the Welsh Hills Symphony (Licking
County), the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra, and the Metropolitan
Chamber Orchestra.
Steven Wedell is an
experienced orchestra leader and builder, having served as Conductor
of the Upper Arlington Civic Orchestra from 1987 to 1999. |
